Leather products are an investment that, with proper care, can last a lifetime. So, whether you’ve got our collar, leash or harness, we have a few handy tips for looking after them.
Clean your products. Before cleaning your leather products, always make sure you wash your hands first as leather products are particularly prone to absorbing grease and oil. To clean, briskly sweep a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth across your leather goods being careful not to saturate them with too much water as otherwise, the leather will take an age to dry!
Keep them dry. We know this can be tricky sometimes, particularly when our beloved pooches spot something they just can’t miss out on! So we suggest, when possible, keeping your products away from water and moisture. If your leather product does get wet, gently wipe it with a soft cloth and let it air dry away from heat sources. Whatever you do, don’t ever attempt to dry the leather with a hairdryer!
Condition regularly. Leather needs to be conditioned to keep it supple and prevent cracking. Use a leather conditioner that matches the colour of your leather product, and apply it with a soft cloth, rubbing it in gently. It’s best to do this at least twice a year and up to once a month.
When you’re not using your beautiful leather goods, ensure you store them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. It’s best to avoid storing them in a plastic bag or any other non-breathable material, as this can cause mildew (gross!).
Our products arrive packaged in luxury dust bags so keep this somewhere easily accessible to protect them from unnecessary damage.
